BELT'S

There are 10 levels (GUPS) for the students to progress through in order to attain his/her Black Belt

*BELTS WILL BE AWARDED UPON COMPETENT DISPLAY OF ALL REQUIRED TECHNIQUES IN THAT BELT LEVEL.

* WHITE BELTS ARE AWARDED AUTOMATICALLY WHEN YOU BEGIN TAE KWON DO TRAINING

* WHITE 10TH GUP

* HIGH WHITE 9TH GUP

* YELLOW 8TH GUP

* HIGH YELLOW 7TH GUP

* GREEN 6TH GUP

* HIGH GREEN 5TH GUP

* BLUE 4TH GUP

* HIGH BLUE 3RD GUP

* RED 2ND GUP

* HIGH RED 1ST GUP

From here the student promotes to a Deputy Black Belt and then by invitation, to Black Belt 1st Dan/Poom.

Promotions after Black Belt 1st Dan are also by invitation of the Master.

All Black Belts are required to demonstrate exceptional qualities in skill, knowledge and attitude.

Tips are awarded to you as you progress through the necessary training of each of your belt levels. Each level is different, so check the cards posted in the dojang for the correct requirements.

* WHITE TIP-- BLOCK AND PUNCH

* YELLOW TIP-- KICKING COMBINATIONS

* GREEN TIP-- BREAKING

* BLUE TIP-- FORM

* RED TIP-- PRE-TESTED(READY TO TEST)
